Dave McPherson possesses extensive experience in engineering and GIS, beginning as Deputy Chief Engineer at the Department of Water Affairs from January 1982 to April 1995, where responsibilities included flood hydrology, project planning, dam construction, and strategic planning with a focus on GIS implementation. Following this, McPherson held the position of Regional Manager at Esri South Africa and then at GIMS until July 1999. Subsequent roles included Director at ENGIS Consulting and Southern GIS, before joining Aurecon in January 2008 as an Associate, GIS Analyst, and Senior Engineer. In the current role, McPherson focuses on the effective deployment of GIS resources, contributing to the company's GIS strategy, and mentoring junior staff. McPherson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand.
