Cecilia Karlsson is the Senior Global Development Medical Director at AstraZeneca, bringing over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. They have worked across the entire drug discovery and development chain, specializing in metabolism and endocrinology. Cecilia has played a key role in building the obesity disease area at AstraZeneca and has developed patented approaches for patient segmentation. In addition to their corporate role, they regularly lecture at Göteborg University and have authored medical articles and book chapters. Since 2019, Cecilia has also served as an associate professor at Göteborg University.
