Sergi Gorreta Mariné is a seasoned aerospace engineering professional with extensive experience in electronics development and spacecraft subsystem design. Currently serving as VP of Engineering at AST SpaceMobile since July 2018, Sergi leads the Electronic and Production teams in Barcelona, overseeing the design, testing, and production of multiple spacecraft subsystems. Prior roles at AST include Sr. Director and Director of Electronics Development, and Senior Scientist Manager, focusing on next-generation satellites for low-Earth orbit. Before AST, Sergi held the position of Senior Researcher and Team Leader at LEITAT Technological Center, leading electronic department initiatives and performing feasibility analyses. Academic background includes a PhD from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and significant contributions to projects involving Mars environmental sensors and CubeSat missions, as well as teaching roles and research collaborations with ESA.
