Gerren McHam serves as the Vice President of Government and External Affairs at API Innovation Center since June 2023, following a progressive career in government relations and public policy. Previous roles include Director of External Relations for the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development, Special Advisor for Legislation and Outreach at the U.S. Department of Education, and various positions at The Heritage Foundation and the United States Senate. Gerren's early experience includes a student assistant role in the Vice President’s Office for Student Affairs at Clemson University. Gerren holds a degree in Political Science with a focus on Legal Studies from Clemson University, earned between 2006 and 2010.
