Gary Overett is the Managing Director at Kognic China, where they focus on advancements in autonomous driving technology. They previously served as a Chief Scientist for Xiaopeng Motors and contributed to significant developments in road perception algorithms and data collection systems. With experience as an Associate Professor at the SYSU-CMU Joint Institute of Engineering, they played a key role in establishing a new engineering school. Gary began their career as a Research Engineer at NICTA, where they helped create road asset mapping systems utilized in GPS navigation. They hold a Bachelor's degree and a PhD in Computer Vision from the Australian National University.
