Nicky Fitzgerald is the Founder and former CEO of Angama, having begun her hospitality career in 1982 with the opening of her first hotel. Over the years, Nicky conceptualized, built, and marketed 62 properties across sub-Saharan Africa and India, including numerous luxury lodges and restaurants. Nicky served as the Marketing Director at &Beyond, where Nicky contributed to the growth of luxury eco-tourism, and spent time as a consultant focusing on global luxury travel. Since co-founding Angama in 2014, Nicky has been instrumental in transforming luxury adventure travel marketing, training over 4,500 community staff, and expanding the brand’s global footprint, while also taking on the role of non-executive director after stepping down as CEO in 2024.
