Heather Salah Wood is currently the Aircraft Software Engineering Manager at American Airlines, a position they have held since 2025. Previously, from 2017 to 2021, they served as an Engineer in Shared Assets Engineering, where they worked on aircraft interior, structural, and systems modifications, and provided engineering support at MROs and maintenance hangars. Heather also developed and instructed engineering training courses during this time. They hold a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington and a Master of Science in Engineering/Industrial Management from The University of Texas at Austin.
