Jeremy McGibbon is a Senior Machine Learning Research Engineer at the Allen Institute for AI, with a focus on applying machine learning to climate model development. Jeremy earned a PhD in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Washington, where they developed innovative neural network representations of subgrid clouds that significantly reduced forecast errors. Prior to this, Jeremy completed a Master’s in Atmospheric Sciences and a Bachelor’s in Physics from the University of Toronto, actively engaging in research and presenting their findings at conferences. Additionally, Jeremy has held roles that included supporting students as a residence don and conducting research at various institutions.
