Darryl Adriaanzen currently serves as the Group Chief Operations Officer at African Bank, a position held since November 2021. Prior to this role, Darryl was with Access Bank South Africa from June 2015 to November 2021, where responsibilities included leadership over Personal and Business Banking, and additional roles as Chief Operating Officer and Executive: Personal and Business Banking. Darryl has extensive experience in strategic leadership, operational management, and customer-focused initiatives across multiple banking sectors. Earlier in the career, Darryl held various positions at The South African Bank of Athens Limited and Standard Bank, focusing on commercial strategy, sales management, and marketing. Educationally, Darryl completed a Senior Management Programme at the University of Pretoria in 2006 and holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Business Economics, Marketing, and Communications from the same institution, attained between 1994 and 1997.
