Patrick Ngassa Piotie, MD, PhD, is a distinguished public health professional with extensive experience in research, consultancy, and education. Currently serving as a Board Member for the Public Health Association of South Africa and the Physicians Association for Nutrition South Africa, Piotie also holds a position as Chairperson of the Diabetes Alliance, providing strategic leadership. As a lecturer at Université des Montagnes, Piotie teaches Epidemiology and Biostatistics to Master of Public Health students. Previous roles include Founder and Managing Director of a public health consultancy, Project Manager at the University of Pretoria, and contributions to various health organizations. Piotie’s academic credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Health and a Master's Degree in Public Health - Disease Control from the University of Pretoria, complemented by a medical doctorate from the University of Mali. Currently, Piotie is a Kofi Annan Global Health Leadership Fellow at Africa CDC, focusing on developing public health leadership skills.
