Gregory Kabachinski is a highly experienced Principal Research Scientist at AbbVie, where tenure began in October 2015, and previously served as a Senior Scientist. Prior to AbbVie, Gregory held the position of Postdoctoral Associate at MIT from September 2011 to October 2015, working under the guidance of Dr. Thomas Schwartz on projects related to nuclearporins and nuclear pore complex assembly. This role involved protein expression and purification, establishing genetic protocols for functional testing, phage display techniques, and enzymatic activity enhancement through mutagenesis. Earlier in Gregory's career, a Research Assistant role was undertaken at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from August 2004 to August 2011, also under Dr. Thomas F, and a brief Research Assistant position at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in early 2004, supervised by Dr. Ed Michaud, focused on designing high-throughput protocols for generating conditional knockout vectors. Gregory holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a BS in Biochemistry, Cellular, and Molecular Biology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
