Yongjin Park is the Founder and Chief Scientific Officer at 1849 bio, a role they have held since 2024. Previously, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, contributing significantly to pioneering efforts in applying artificial genetic networks in living therapeutics. Yongjin also served as a Scientist at Zymergen, Inc., and Pivot Bio, where they developed high-throughput pipelines and managed research teams. They have a Ph.D. in Biological/Biosystems Engineering from MIT and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. Earlier, they gained research experience at Harvard Medical School, where they published notable papers in the field of molecular pharmaceutics.
